Featured Volunteer Opportunites In Education, Health and Financial Stability.

Desert Communities United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, health and financial stability: the building blocks for a good life.  But we can't do it alone.  We need the heads, hands and hearts of committed people like you to help us tackle the problems facing our communites.

Put your talents to work for your community. Give an hour. Give a Saturday. Give your best. We all have special talents. Things we can do to help. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. Give the gift of you. Volunteer.  Many of our member agencies have vollunteer opportunities.

Member Agencies Volunteer Opportunities:
Boy Scouts of America Inland Empire Council:

Scouting needs adults to lead our next generation on the road to Character, Citizenship, and Physical and Mental Fitness. Do you have what it takes to guide them on their journey?

We are constantly in need of adults to serve as unit leaders, commissioners, and merit badge counselors. For more information or to receive an application, click here

San Bernardino Sexual Assault Services:

Our volunteer program is a great way to get involved in helping the community! Our services are largely made possible by the generous gift of time by dedicated volunteers. Volunteers that successfully complete our application process and complete our 52 hour Crisis Intervention Training may donate their time in a variety of ways.

  • 24-Hour Crisis Hotline/Emergency Response Shifts – Telephone support counseling and responding to sites with survivors who are reporting their crime.
  • Community Events – tabling community education fairs.
  • Office Support – assisting in office.
  • Community Education/Prevention Workshops – presenting workshops within the community on sexual assault and other related topics as well as services available to survivors.
  • Court Support and Advocacy*- assisting survivors who have active court cases.
  • *Additional training required.
